Ramanavami is a Great Hindu festival. It is celebrated the Birth anniversary of Lord Rama. Lord Rama is the 7th Avatar of Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama is the son of King Dashrath and Queen kaushalya . This festival falls on the last March month and the first month of April Month. Ram Navami is celebrated in 2025 on 06 & 07 April.
How Celebrate Rama Navami
Navratri festival comes two times in a Year. One comes winter season and the other comes in the spring season. Which comes in the spring season, it is called Chaitra Navratri. It will start from the 1st day of the bright half in the Chaitra Month. Ans the 9th day of the bright half in the Chaitra Month, Lord Rama took birth.
On this day, devotee decorates temples and take a fast and whole day singing(bhakti bhajans) and kirtans. Devotees take a fast from morning to sunset and worship Lord Rama. In the evening, they sing a chant and distribute prasad. Ans the bed of the festival, they broke fast with sweets and fruit. After they pray to Lord Rama, Sita and Hanuman . As per the Hindu epic, Ayodhya King Dashrath had three wives and no children. They are very anxious about who will be their heir after them. King Dashrath’s guru, Vashishth, told him to do for Putra Kamesti Yagna. As per the saying, the guru Vashishth, king Dashratha, and his three wives perform the putra kamesti yagna.
In this yagna, many saints and many kings participate. End the yagna, a celesial figure emerged from a fire with a pot of kheer. The King Dashratha gave the blessing by yagna of heer to his three wives. After some days, Queen Kaushalya gave birth to Rama on the ninth day of the bright half of the lunar cycle of Chaitra, also Kaikeyi gave birth to Bharat, and Sumitra gave birth to Lakshman and Shatrughan.
After being young, the King Dashrath chose Rama for the King of Ayodhya. But after saying Manthra Kaikayi told Bharat will be the king of Ayodhya instead of. Kaikeyi has two boons, hence she takes advantage of them. If he didn’t crown Bharata king and banish Rama to the forest for fourteen years. Then Rama, Lakshman, and sita were exiled for fourteen years.
During this period, Demon King Ravan kidnapped Sita from the Chitrakoot forest. Then Rama waged war against Ravana to rescue his wife Sita. Similarly, Ramas unwavering courage, skillful combat, and divine blessing led to the downfall of Ravana. After 14 years of exile, Rama, Sita, and brother Lakshman return to Ayodhya and become just and beloved rulers. Hence, we celebrate every year in joyfully.
